Call for Papers:
In keeping with the conference theme 'Text as Memoir: Tales of Travel, Immigration and Exile,' this session invites papers from all linguistic disciplines which explore the language of travel, immigration, and/or exile. Topics may include, but are not limited to, considerations of the role of language in constructing/deconstructing personal, cultural, or national identities; of language as an (in)effective tool for conveying memory; or of cognitive metaphor in memoir.
Please submit abstracts of no more than 250 words to Peggy Lindsey, Georgia Southern University, at plindsey at georgiasouthern.edu by Friday, June 22, 2012.
