The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to engage in non-discriminatory
hiring practices. We urge employers not to discriminate on the grounds of race,
ethnicity, nationality, disability, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
However, we have no means of enforcing these standards.
Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding
employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international
employment page http://linguistlist.org/jobs/jobnet.html. This page has been set
up so that people can report on the employment standards of various countries.

Description:
The Linguistics Department at Rutgers University is offering two half-year
visiting positions, both for the fall semester only, 2012. Each position
requires teaching two courses, one at the graduate level and one at the
undergraduate level, and we can offer a flat payment of approximately
$24,500 for each position. We we will select one candidate who
specializes in syntax and one candidate who specializes in semantics.
Those interested in applying should submit a cover letter, a CV, a sample
of written work, and arrange for three letters of reference to be sent to us
at the first opportunity by e-mail (with hard copies to follow if the
candidate is selected). We may make a decision as early as May 23,
though we will consider candidates applying later until both positions are
filled. We are willing to consider both recent Ph.D.s (no ABDs) and senior
faculty who may be interested in spending a semester at Rutgers.
Rutgers University is an equal opportunity employer.
