Description:
We are looking for a non-Korean faculty member in the area of
phonetics/phonology in the Department of Linguistics and Cognitive
Science at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Korea. The
conditions of employment are as follows. If you are interested in the

1. Period: September 1, 2012 - August 31, 2013 (The contract may be
extended up to several years.)
2. Qualifications:
The candidate should be either (i) one who has been, by the
commencement of employment at the University, a member of a full-
time faculty for three years or more at a university or college, or (ii) one
who has a doctoral degree, speaks English fluently, and is deemed
qualified to teach at the University.
3. Salary:
- Full Professor: KRW 4,652,500 per month
- Associate Professor: KRW 4,148,000 per month
- Assistant Professor: KRW 3,627,200/3,108,700 per month
* Additional payment for any extra teaching load
4. Minimum load of teaching hours: Eight hours a week
5. Accomodations (almost free): A single/family room in a dormitory for
foreign faculty members
6. Airfare Support: One-way airplane ticket from (departure) to Seoul
(economy class for the faculty member and his/her spouse)
7. There are some additional benefits like vacation, research grant,
and travel grant for presentation.
