Description:

Non-Stipendiary Fellowship for (Post-)Graduate Students

The Graduate Research Training Program SToRE of the Collaborative 
Research Centre 'The Structure of Representations in Language, 
Cognition, and Science' (SFB 991) at the Heinrich Heine University 
Duesseldorf, Germany, invites applications for up to 15 Non-Stipendiary 
Fellowship, tenable for up to three years from 01 Apr 2013 or earlier. The 
fellowships are open to those intending to pursue a PhD / Dr.phil. or 
equivalent degree by research. Applicants must be enrolled in a (post-) 
graduate program at any university in any country. They must have their 
research funded from another source.

Fellows become eligible to participate in the research training program of 
SToRE and will receive a certificate upon finishing the program 
(http://www.sfb991.uni-duesseldorf.de/en/mgk/willkommen-bei-store/). Each 
fellow will be supported by an advisory team of two heads of the research 
projects A01-05, B01-B06, or C01-C05 that contribute to the SFB and one 
postdoc (for list of projects: http://www.sfb991.uni-duesseldorf.de/en/).

Successful applicants will meet the following criteria:

- The topic of the research for the PhD thesis is closely related to the SFB's 
research program (see http://www.sfb991.uni-duesseldorf.de/en/summary/).
- Are motivated to contribute to the SFB and collaborate with the members 
of the SFB on research topics.
- Are able to communicate well about his/her subject.
- Are able to demonstrate the suitability of the SFB for carrying out the 
proposed research.

following documents as one pdf-file to store_sfb991 at phil.uni-

- Application letter that explains your motivation for applying, your 
expectations, how your research fits into the SFB and the Graduate 
Program SToRE, and names at least one head of a research projects whom 
you wish to have assigned to your advisory team. Please do not contact 
your preferred advisor/s at this point.
- CV
- List of publications (if any)
- Copy of your degree(s)
- Copy of language certificate(s) (if any)
- Proof of enrollment as a (post-)graduate student

Two letters of recommendation must reach SToRE from your academic 
referees by the closing date. Letters may be sent by your referees--using 
their academic email address--as email attachments (preferably pdf files), 
as hard copies, or by fax (+49-211-8103170).

Short-listed candidates will be invited to an interview at the center of which 
is a presentation of the candidate's research. Interviews will be held on 
campus or via skype, depending on the candidate's location. If short-listed, 
you will also be asked to produce proof of funding before interview.
