Meeting Description:
The Olomouc Linguistics Colloquium (Olinco) is to be a general linguistics conference held at least biannually at Palacký University Olomouc. It will cover synchronic or diachronic aspects of grammar, phonology, or semantics.

Geoffrey Leech (University of Lancaster)
Joseph Emonds (Palacký University)
There will be no conference fee.
Call for Papers:
Papers can treat language description, language acquisition, performance, translation, or language deficits. The topic of Olinco 2013 will be Language Use and Linguistic Structure. We look forward to contributions which include and justify proposals for linguistic structure, and at the same time relate these structures to some aspect of language use, such as information structure, phonetics, meaning, etc.
Papers and Sessions:
Proposals are invited for oral presentations and posters in the form of abstracts related to the general topic. Poster sessions will be an integral part of the conference program. The language of the conference will be English, with certain dedicated sessions in German.
All abstract submissions will be anonymously reviewed by an international committee of linguists. Please read the more detailed abstract submission guidelines available on our website:

Publication Venue:
A selection of papers will be published in conference proceedings which will be submitted to the Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (Web of Science).
Accommodation Grants:
Authors of accepted oral presentations (or two co-authors) will receive two nights' accommodation in a university dormitory (within walking distance of the conference venue).

Abstract submission deadline: 20 January 2013
Notification of acceptance: 15 March 2013
Early registration deadline (no fee involved): 15 April 2013
