Description:

Georgetown University’s Department of Linguistics invites applications from
applied linguists for a three-year appointment as Visiting Assistant
Professor, beginning August 1, 2013. We seek an energetic colleague to support
and expand our current strengths in language assessment, program evaluation,
and statistics. Additional expertise in any of the following three areas would
be a plus: language education and teaching methodology, usage-based and
cognitive linguistic approaches to second language acquisition, or technology
in language learning. The successful candidate will bring a robust research
agenda which complements the strengths of the applied linguistics program.
S/he will teach two courses per semester and help mentor doctoral students.
Resources include a conference travel budget and a research/teaching
assistant. Applicants must have completed all requirements for the PhD degree
by the time of appointment.
