Description:
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research fellowship in the Department of Foreign Literatures and LInguistics, as part of a research project entitled Prosody: A Source of Word Order Micro-Parameters funded by the Israel Science Foundation and led by Nomi Erteschik-Shir. The project seeks to provide evidence for a cross linguistic correlation between the existence of a tone distinction and the optionality of object shift in Mainland Scandinavian languages and dialects. This is a one year position starting November 1, 2013. The grant holder will receive a monthly grant of 5,140 Israeli Shekels.
Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. degree in linguistics (ABD will be considered) and have a research focus on prosody and expertise in the use of PRAAT and ToBI.
