Description:
The Linguistics Program at the University of Montana awards up to four teaching assistantships (TA) to qualified applicants to the MA Program. The TA award includes a tuition waiver, some fee waivers, and a monthly stipend during the contract period mid-August to mid-May. Awards are renewable for one additional year, though such renewal is not guaranteed.
TAs instruct one English as a Second Language (EASL) course per semester. These courses are designed for international students at the University of Montana whose proficiency in English is deemed insufficient for mainstream academic progress. TAs participate in an Orientation Program during the week prior to the start of the classes and enroll in a 1-credit weekly seminar during the semester which is supervised by the Program Planner. The anticipated workload for TAs is approximately 20 hours per week.
Applicants must indicate their interest in being considered for a TA award in their application for admission to the Graduate School. See the website address below for accessing the online Graduate School Application. The application deadline for anyone wishing to be considered for a TA award is February 15th, 2014.
Application Deadline: 15-Feb-2014
