Meeting Description: 

We are delighted to announce that the 8th Phonetics Teaching and Learning Conference will take place on 8-10 August 2013. PTLC is a biennial international conference devoted to the teaching, learning and assessment of phonetics. The conference will feature oral presentations of (peer-reviewed) papers, an invited keynote, and published proceedings (of full 4-page papers).

Keynote speaker: Sue Fox (Queen Mary, University of London)

PTLC began in 1999, and has been hosted regularly at UCL since then. It provides a unique forum for research concerned with all aspects of the teaching, learning and assessment of phonetics, including (but not confined to):
•	general phonetics
•	phonetics for speech therapy and audiology
•	phonetics for the performing arts
•	phonetics for language teaching
•	forensic phonetics
•	the use of IT and distance learning in phonetics
