Meeting Description:

The 8th edition of the conference focuses on Communicating Science in the Knowledge-Based Society. We aim to highlight the contribution of humanities and social sciences to the development and promotion of the results of scientific and technological innovation in a globalized world, where they play a vital role for social progress. Topics will include, but are not limited to:

- Communication and public relations
- Linguistics
- Translation studies
- Foreign language teaching

Call for Papers:

Conference Format:

Types of presentation: talk (30 minutes), workshop (60 minutes), panel discussion (2 hrs.)
Working languages: Romanian, English, French, or German 

Conference Proceedings:

Selected papers will be published in the volume Professional Communication and Translation Studies (indexed by EBSCO) or in the Scientific Bulletin of ‘Politehnica’ University of Timisoara, Transactions on Modern Languages (indexed by EBSCO and MLA).

Languages of publication: English, French or German.

Abstract submission deadline: January 31, 2013
Second Call for Papers (accommodation, registration fee, and publication guidelines): February 5, 2013
Notification of acceptance and first draft of the conference programme: February 25, 2013
Final draft of the conference programme: March 11, 2013
