Description:
The Fryske Akademy is a scientific institute concerned with high-quality,
innovative research in the fields of Frisian language, culture, history and
society. Its research results are relevant to the society at large, being of
regional, national and international importance. It has about 60 employees.
The Fryske Akademy is an associated institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy
of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), which has its seat in Amsterdam.
Within the scope of the network program University Campus Fryslân we are
looking for PhD students for three projects
These international relevant projects are part of the collaboration with the
ACLC (Amsterdam Centre for Language and Communication) of the University of
Amsterdam.
Work Location:
The PhD students will work in Fryslân and be located at the Fryske Akademy,
Ljouwert/Leeuwarden.
Appointment:
The PhD students will be appointed for a period of up to 4 years. A contract
will be given in the first instance for one year, with an extension for the
following years on the basis of an evaluation of, amongst other things, a
written piece of work.
We offer a full-time PhD-position (38 hours/week) for 4 years (preferred
starting date: March 2013).
The starting salary (on a full time base) will be € 2042,- gross per month in
the first year up to € 2.612,- gross per month in the last year. Favourable
conditions of employment include holiday allowance and a year-end bonus, in
accordance with the Collective Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO
Nederlandse Universiteiten). We offer an extensive package of fringe benefits.
