The Society for Caribbean Linguistics (SCL) will host its 20th Biennial Conference and will meet with the Society for Pidgin and Creole Linguistics (SPCL) and the Associação de Crioulos de Base Lexical Portuguesa e Espanhola (ACBLPE) in Oranjestad in Aruba from 3 to 8 August 2014. The conference is hosted by the Fundacion Lanta Papiamento, Instituto Pedagogico Arubano and Departamento di Cultura Aruba. The Conference theme is The Caribbean Today: Language Awareness and Language Development.
Call for Papers:
Abstracts on all Caribbean, and Pidgin and Creole languages are invited. Caribbean languages include spoken and signed languages, Amerindian languages, Creole languages, standardised, official and non-standardised language varieties, immigrant languages, heritage languages, endangered languages, and religious and ritual languages. Abstracts pertaining to Aruban, Bonairean and Curaçaoan Language Issues and Situations with a focus on Papiamento (in any sub-discipline of linguistics) are especially invited.
