Description:
North-Eastern Federal University (NEFU) is one of the major federal
universities in the Russian Federation. And NEFU now invites applications for
a tenure-track appointment at the Linguistics Department (Master’s program)
which is to be open in the academic year 2013. We seek to hire a specialist in
syntax and semantics (or morphology). The Ph.D. is required by the beginning
of the appointment. The successful candidate will have a native fluency of
English. High language proficiency of Russian will be helpful but not
required.
NEFU is on a two-semester calendar, in which each semester begins in January
and September. We expect that the new faculty member will teach various
linguistic courses, especially syntax and semantics, in English. The
department currently has two full-time faculty members who cooperate with a
number of joint faculty members of other departments.

Requirements:
- PhD degree in Linguistics or related field
- Experience in research and excellent research skills, evidenced by
publications in professional journals
- Excellent teaching skills at undergraduate and graduate level
- Experience in mentoring or working with students of diverse backgrounds
- Organizational experience and skills
- Native fluency of English
Appointment and Benefits:
The appointment will be permanent, after a period of two years on temporary
basis and satisfactory performance. Preferred starting date is 1 September
2013. Salary will be competitive, commensurate with qualifications and
experience. (But the gross monthly salary would range from 40,000_Rubles to
70,000 Rubles.) NEFU will offer free accommodation in the NEFU campus upon
appointment.
