Description:
The Faculty of Arts, Design and Social Sciences at Northumbria University is
offering a number of full-time PhD studentships to commence during
September/October 2013.
The division of Linguistics and English Language in the Department of
Humanities is inviting applications from applicants who have a broad interest
in corpus linguistics, cognitive linguistics, discourse analysis,
sociolinguistics and applied linguistics. We particularly welcome applications
from students interested in cognitive approaches to discourse analysis
(including empirical/experimental work) and corpus-based investigations of
spoken language.
Successful applicants normally receive:
A fee waiver (up to the home/EU fee level) for three years full time
A full RCUK stipend level of £13,726 per annum for three years (full time)
Research studentship holders normally hold at least a first or upper second
undergraduate degree in a relevant subject from a British higher education
institution, or equivalent.
