Dear All,
I am doing my PHD thesis on ''Refusals of Requests by Iraqi EFL Learners at the University Level'' at the University of Manchester/UK. I face a difficulty in finding similar cross cultural studies in terms of the speech acts of refusals, requests and offers. In other words, a study that included British English and Iraqi Arabic from a cross cultural perspective.
Would you please help me to find previous studies that tackled the aforementioned speech acts.
Thank you,
Mohammed
