The latest version of the Automated Similarity Judgment Program (ASJP) database of short (40-item) word lists has now been released. It contains 6896 word lists pertaining to 4421 languages with distinct ISO 639-3 codes as well as many languages not recognized by ISO 639-3. The database may be downloaded here:
http://wwwstaff.eva.mpg.de/~wichmann/languages.htm
The ASJP website also contains other resources, including papers and software.
Although the database represents a significant step forward towards the goal of covering all the world's languages there are still more than two thousand languages not yet included. We would very much appreciate contributions to the database from the linguistics community. Please see http://wwwstaff.eva.mpg.de/~wichmann/invitation.htm
A quick guide to languages that are still missing is found here: http://email.eva.mpg.de/~wichmann/EthnLgs.tab
