Description:
The University of Oklahoma announces a tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor in 20th and 21st century Latin American literature and culture. Candidates with expertise in Andean, Caribbean, or Mexican literature; contemporary theory; and/or film will be given special consideration. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment, a native or near-native command of Spanish, and a demonstrable commitment to excellence in both teaching and research. The successful candidate will teach two courses per semester. Salary and internal research funding opportunities are competitive. The appointment will begin August 16, 2014 and interviews will be conducted at the MLA convention. The University of Oklahoma, a Carnegie Very High Research institution, is home to World Literature Today and the South Central Modern Language Association.
