Call to organize the 11th International Symposium on Bilingualism (ISB11) in 2017
The ISB Committee is calling for bids from interested institutions to host the International Symposium on Bilingualism - ISB11 in the year 2017. The deadline for the call for bids is February 1, 2014.
ISB is an international forum that welcomes scholars in all disciplines and fields of research dedicated to bilingualism and multilingualism. Its main goal is to provide a forum for presenting quality research on bilingualism/multilingualism arising from linguistic, cognitive, psychological, neurological, educational or social issues, and from other relevant fields of inquiry.
The 2017 Symposium will be the 11th time in ISB’s history. The ISB conferences have been organized since 1997:

- 2013 Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
- 2011 University of Oslo
- 2009 Utrecht University
- 2007 University of Hamburg
- 2005 Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona

- 2001 University of the West of England, Bristol
- 1999 University of Newcastle upon Tyne
- 1997 University of Newcastle upon Tyne
Symposium Format:
At ISB there are plenary sessions, invited panels, colloquia, individual papers, posters and an exhibition for publishers.
Number of Participants:
ISB has attracted around 650 people in its most recent gatherings.
Submitting a Bis:
The deadline for submissions is February 1, 2014. For further information please obtain the ''Guidelines for submitting a bid'' from the Secretary of the ISB Committee, Dr. Durk Gorter (d.gorter at ikerbasque.org).
