Description:
The Linguistics Department at the University of Maryland, College Park invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position in theoretical generative syntax beginning August 2014. Applicants for the position should already have a PhD or expect to have one by August 2014, should have a solid foundation in linguistic theory and should be prepared to teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level. The ideal candidate should have a strong research profile in syntax and should have broader interests that interface with one or more of the department’s strengths in semantics, phonology, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, or computational linguistics. The successful candidate will also be expected to have an active involvement in the new Language Science Center.
