About the Conference:

UCCTS is a biennial international conference which was launched by Richard Xiao in 2008 to provide an international forum for the exploration of the theoretical and practical issues pertaining to the creation and use of corpora in contrastive and translation studies. The conference is hosted by the UCREL research centre, which brings together the Department of Linguistics and English Language with the School of Computing and Communications at Lancaster.

The Using Corpora in Contrastive and Translation Studies series has been well received over the years:

UCCTS1: Zhejiang University, China, September 2012
UCCTS2: Edge Hill University, UK, July 2010
UCCTS3: held jointly with the 7th International Contrastive Linguistics conference at the University of Ghent, Belgium, July 2013

Plenary Speakers:

Silvia Bernardini (Bologna University, Italy)
Signe Oksefjell Ebeling (University of Oslo, Norway)
Dorothy Kenny (Dublin City University, Ireland)
Béatrice Lamiroy (Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium)
