Description:
The Department of Languages at Clemson University invites applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Spanish in Latin American Literature specializing in Women¹s Studies to commence in the fall of 2014. We are looking for outstanding teacher scholars who can contribute to interdisciplinary programs. Expertise in Latina/o Studies and/or Global Health is highly desirable.
Required Qualifications: Ph. D. by the time the appointment begins; native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English; demonstrated excellence in teaching and research. Along with courses pertaining to their field, successful candidates are expected to teach all levels of the Spanish curriculum.
Clemson University is a comprehensive public University with over 19,000 students. The Department of Languages is housed in a college that combines Humanities, Design and Building, and the Fine and Performing Arts. It currently offers three distinct degree programs: the B.A. in Modern Languages (ASL, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish); the B.A. in Language & International Trade (Chinese, French, German, (Japanese, and Spanish); and a B.S. in Language & International Health (Chinese and Spanish).
