Description:

Department of Linguistics, SIU Carbondale invites applications for Chair and Professor, with tenure, to begin August 1, 2014.  Applicants must hold a PhD in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or related field, with a substantive research focus on Linguistics or TESOL, and must have academic qualifications consistent with appointment in the Department of Linguistics at the rank of tenured Professor. Applicants must have a strong record of published research, an active research agenda, and experience with administrating or coordinating departments, organizations, journals, or programs.  Applicants must have the capacity for successful administrative work in areas such as personnel, curriculum, and recruitment, and must have demonstrated potential to lead the Department in continued growth and innovation in both Linguistics and TESOL.
