Meeting Description:

Department of Jewish Culture at Saint Petersburg State University has an honor to inform you of the First International Conference 'Hebrew and Yiddish in the Context of Contemporary Education and Culture', which will be held by St. Petersburg State University in collaboration with Chais Center for Jewish Studies at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Inter-regional Center for Hebrew Teaching at October, 20-21 in St. Petersburg (Russia).

The thematic areas are Modern Hebrew research, Hebrew teaching, Modern Hebrew literature, research of Yiddish, Yiddish teaching, Yiddish literature. The reports are to be delivered either in Russian (at all the sessions), or in Hebrew (at the Hebrew sessions), or in English and Yiddish (at the Yiddish sessions).

Call for Papers:

The application must contain the report subject, applicant's full name, information about academic degree (if any), postal address, phone number and email. Applications won't be accepted after May 1. The authors of accepted reports are requested to submit their abstracts which should be in English and contain up to 600 words until July 15.
