Scholarly articles are invited for the book titled Contemporary Issues in Language Studies. It is a compendium of linguistic theories. Its central focus is domesticating linguistic theories in order to bring linguistics closer to people. Each chapter is to address specific issues in linguistics, present them in a simplified manner and give appropriate illustrations, particularly from African milieus. Each author is required to present the topics like a classroom lecture, following this format:
- Introduction
- Objectives
- Content
- Summary
- Conclusion
- References (APA 6th Edition)

The areas of linguistics to be covered include:
1. Phonology
2. Phonetics
3. Syntax
4. Stylistics
5. Contrastive Analysis
6. Semiotics
7. Corpus linguistics
8. Psycholinguistics/Neurolinguistics
9. Forensic linguistics
10. Computational linguistics
11. Discourse analysis
12. Critical Linguistics/Critical Discourse Analysis
13. Pragmatics
