Focus: The UZH (University of Zurich) Institute of Comparative Linguistics offers a Newar intensive course (ISO 639-3: new), taught by experienced instructor and native speaker Laxmi Nath Shrestha.
Minimum Education Level: Undergraduate
Special Qualifications:
The course will be held in English. Additional knowledge of Nepali is useful but not required.
Description:
Newar is the language of the Newars, the original inhabitants of the Kathmandu valley and one of the most fascinating ethnic groups of Nepal. By participating in this course, you will delve into Newar culture and start to speak Newar from the very first lesson. You will be surprised finding yourself able to take part in simple conversations after a few days!
Use this unique chance to learn a fascinating language on an intensive schedule and enjoy the stimulating atmosphere of UZH and Zurich in late summer.

Tuition Explanation: The regular fee is 240 € (300 CHF). Undergraduate students pay a reduced fee of 180 € (220 CHF). The fee includes classes and coffee breaks but not accommodation.
