Description:

The Research Center for Humanities of the University of Nova Gorica invites applications for a postdoctoral position in experimental linguistics – multilingualism, as described below.

The University of Nova Gorica is a young (est. 1995) and growing private research-oriented university in Slovenia. It comprises seven schools and eleven research centers. It is a member of the European University Association (including EUA- Council for Doctoral Education). Despite its relatively small size, the University participates in a number of nationally and European funded research projects, collaborates with over 40 European and international universities and research institutes, and participates in academic and research exchange programs such as ERASMUS and COST. The main UNG location is in Nova Gorica, on the border between Slovenia and Italy.

- Start date: as soon as possible
- Position is for one year, renewable for a second year after successful evaluation of the performance in the first year
- Full-time employment with a standard University of Nova Gorica postdoctoral researcher's salary
- The candidate will conduct experimental linguistic work on syntactic and semantic aspects of multilingualism, moderate teaching obligations may also be assigned. He/she will work as part of a team in the Language and Cognitive Science group of the Research Center for Humanities (http://www.ung.si/en/research/research-centre-for-humanities/). The job location is in Nova Gorica.

Requirements:
- The candidate should have a PhD and a CV that demonstrates expertise in experimental linguistic/psycholinguistic work on multilingualism
- Fluent command of English
- Knowledge of Slovenian and/or Italian is an advantage but not a requirement
