Description:

Two new lecturer positions in Linguistics; various subjects

Subject to budgetary availability, the UCLA Department of Linguistics anticipates making two Lecturer appointments for academic year 2014-15.  These are new positions and are distinct from the lecturer positions advertised in an earlier announcement.

Appointees will be paid an annual salary spread over a twelve month period between July 1, 2014 and June 30th, 2015; instruction dates are 9/29/14 - 6/12/15. The qualifications for the position are as follows: Ph.D. degree by 6/30/2014, demonstrated evidence of teaching ability, and experience in teaching some subset of the courses needed for next year’s curriculum (see list below).  

If necessary the Department will split these appointments among multiple individuals qualified to teach the various courses. For a full-year position, salary will range from $47,584 to $56,563 based on qualifications and teaching experience, subject to future changes in the lecturer salary scale. Lecturer appointments that extend for the full academic year qualify for health insurance and other benefits.

The teaching load will be two courses per quarter. There are three quarters in the academic year.
