Focus: 

(1) Allow scientific community to benefit from the methodological advances of DERom project (Dictionnaire Etymologique Roman), which proposes to rebuild the hereditary Romance etymology on the basis of comparative grammar.
(2) Participate in the training of a new generation of Romance linguists capable of facing future challenges in the field of etymology and lexicology.
(3) Uniting forces in Romance historical lexicography and synergize flagship projects such as ALW (Atlas Linguistique de la Wallonie), AND (Anglo-Norman Dictionary), DAG ( Dictionnaire onomasiologique de l'ancien gascon), DEAF (Dictionnaire Etymologique de l'Ancien Français), DELlA (Diccionariu etimolóxicu de la Llingua Asturiana), DERom (Dictionnaire Etymologique Roman), DI (Deonomasticon Italicum), DLR (Dicţionarul limbii Române), DMF (Dictionnaire du Moyen Français), DOM (Dictionnaire de l'Occitan Médiéval), DRG (Dicziunari rumantsch grischun), FEW (Französisches Etymologisches Wörterbuch), GPSR (Glossaire des Patois de la Suisse Romande), LEI (Lessico Etimologico Italiano) or NDHE (Nuevo diccionario histórico del español).
(4) Allow each participant of the summer school to write a DERom article, which will be published under its author's name on the website of the dictionary (http://www.atilf.fr/DERom).

(1) Faire profiter la communauté scientifique des avancées méthodologiques du projet DÉRom (Dictionnaire Étymologique Roman), qui se propose de refonder l’étymologie héréditaire romane sur la base de la grammaire comparée-reconstruction.
(2) Participer à la formation d’une relève capable d’affronter les défis de demain dans le domaine de l’étymologie et de la lexicologie/lexicographie historiques romanes.
(3) Fédérer les forces vives en lexicographie historique romane et créer une synergie entre les projets phares du domaine tels que l’ALW (Atlas linguistique de la Wallonie), l’AND (Anglo-Norman Dictionary), le DAG (Dictionnaire onomasiologique de l’ancien gascon), le DEAF (Dictionnaire Étymologique de l’Ancien Français), le DELlA (Diccionariu etimolóxicu de la Llingua Asturiana), le DÉRom (Dictionnaire Étymologique Roman), le DI (Deonomasticon Italicum), le DLR (Dicţionarul limbii române), le DMF (Dictionnaire du Moyen Français), le DOM (Dictionnaire de l’Occitan Médiéval), le DRG (Dicziunari rumantsch grischun), le FEW (Französisches Etymologisches Wörterbuch), le GPSR (Glossaire des Patois de la Suisse Romande), le LEI (Lessico Etimologico Italiano) ou encore le NDHE (Nuevo diccionario histórico del español).

Description:
The course will consist of lectures, that will allow students to master the key concepts about the different linguistic regions of Romania and to become familiar with the lexicographical tools needed to prepare a DERom article. Alongside the lessons, students will participate to hours of practical work, in which they will begin to write their articles. The daily work will be completed by conferences focused on some of the most interest theorical problems in Romance Linguistics. The language of the summer school is French.

Le programme de l'école d'été prévoit des cours consacrés aux diverses domaines linguistiques de la Romania, qui permettront aux étudiants de maîtriser les questions principales pertinentes à chaque variété traitée et de se familiariser avec les instruments lexicographiques et dialectologues nécessaires à la rédaction d'un article du DERom. A côté des cours, des heures de travaux pratiques sont prévues, pendant lesquelles les étudiants pourront rédiger leurs articles. Chaque journée de travail sera completée par des conférences données par des spécialistes en linguistique romane, qui aborderont des problèmes théoriques d'intérêt général.
