Dear fellow researchers,

We are happy to introduce InPhonDB - Infant Phonemic Discrimination DataBase, a database containing all published studies on vowel discrimination, and some unpublished ones:

We think this is an exciting opportunity for linguistics and related fields, and we hope many of you make use of it in one way or another. For example:

1. You can use this body of previous work to make more informed decisions before running an experiment related to infant discrimination, or when modeling phonological acquisition. More details and examples of use can be found here: https://sites.google.com/site/inphondb/what-can-you-do-with-inphondb

2. You can help reduce the file drawer problem in our domain: are specific studies replicable, and what are accurate effect size estimates? Now we can all do something to answer these questions, with very little effort: It should take you about 10 minutes to fill out our forms with information on your file drawer study (and this would be a great exercise for students).
