Meeting Description:

The Department of General and Romance Linguistics, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon, is pleased to announce the III International Conference on Hispanic Linguistics: Frontiers and Dialogues, focused on languages in contact, and with a monographic session on Amerindian languages. It will take place on April 7-8 2014 at Amphitheatre III, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon. 

Inaugural speaker will be Prof. Dr. Ignacio Bosque Muñoz (Professor of Spanish at the Complutense University of Madrid and Academician of the Royal Spanish Academy) and plenary speakers will be Prof. Dr. Ángel López García-Molins (Professor of Linguistics at the University of Valencia and director of the Valencian Institute of Amerindian Languages and Cultures) and Prof. Dr. Alejandro Veiga Rodríguez (Professor of Spanish at the University of Santiago de Compostela).

2nd Call for Papers:

The call for papers is extended until January 31, 2014. Applicants should send an abstract on any topic covering language contact in one of these three languages: Spanish, Portuguese or English. The final decision of the Scientific Committee about accepted papers will be send before February 28, 2014. A selection of the accepted papers will be published, as in previous editions.
