Description:
The English Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is searching for an outstanding teacher-scholar at the rank of assistant professor specializing in generative approaches to second language acquisition with complementary expertise in language typology. The successful candidate will be expected to have an active scholarly research program, teach at the graduate and undergraduate level (4 courses per academic year), supervise graduate students, and engage in service on faculty and university committees. Strong preference will be given to those candidates who have demonstrated excellence in teaching.
To ensure full consideration, applications must be received no later than March 20, 2014. Please submit application materials, including letter of application, CV, statement on teaching philosophy, 2 syllabi for classes taught in the relevant areas, a writing sample, and names of 3 references (candidates should not send references), to Professor Caroline Levine, Chair, Department of English at the application email address below.
