Description:
Vicomtech-IK4, an international applied research centre in Visual Interaction and Communication Technologies located in San Sebastian (Spain) is looking for a Junior Researcher in Computational Linguistics. We seek someone with an interest in the development of NLP tools and resources, who combines research and implementation skills and is motivated by the transfer of natural language processing technologies into real world applications through the development of advanced research prototypes meant to solve real needs.
The selected candidate will be part of the Human Speech and Language Technologies Department, and will be involved in advanced research and development for regional, national and European projects. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, with a good understanding of linguistic phenomena and the ability to adapt, extend and develop tools for the automatic processing of lexical, morphological and syntactic information.
Skills:
- Programming knowledge of Python, Perl and/or Java.
- Good knowledge of lexical semantics, morphology and syntax.
- Experience in the development of NLP tools and resources is a strong plus.
- Good knowledge of Spanish and English. Knowledge of Basque and other languages is a strong plus.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Education and Experience:
- M.A. in Computational Linguistics or Linguistics
or
- B.A. in Computational Linguistics or Linguistics with 1+ years of work experience
