SEEKING EGYPTIAN- AND SUDANESE-ARABIC SPEAKERS FOR ONLINE STUDY

Dear fellow linguists,

My name is Mona Faris. I am a Ph.D. candidate from the University of Western Sydney, MARCS Institute (Australia, Sydney). I am searching for Egyptian- and Sudanese-Arabic speakers to take part in an online speech perception study and I am hoping that you (or someone you know) may be able to assist me. 

I have designed an online study to investigate the way in which Egyptian- and Sudanese-Arabic speakers perceive the Australian-English vowels. In this online study, participants will listen to Australian-English vowels and they will need to indicate how the Australian-English vowels sound to their Arabic vowels. There is also a short background information questionnaire to be completed at the end. This online study should take approximately 40 minutes to complete. Full instructions and examples (all written in Arabic) are available on the online study website. 

The criteria for participation is that you need to be an Egyptian- or Sudanese-Arabic speaker currently living in Egypt or Sudan, respectively. 

I need 20 Egyptian and 20 Sudanese speakers. However, it has been very difficult to find people in Sudan and Egypt to help me with this and I am on a strict timeline to have this online study completed for my PhD project.

Also, if you have contacts living in Egypt or Sudan who you think may be able to assist (e.g., family members, friends, colleagues, students, researcher assistants, etc.), please forward this notice to them.
