Meeting Description:

Multiple Perspectives: Integrating Theory and Practice

Contemporary foreign and second language teaching is informed by theoretical developments in many fields such as language acquisition, psychology, and education. The practical and realistic application of theory is something that all educators aspire to in their classrooms.

Invited presenters must pre-register and pay the registration fee by February 7, 2015. Conference pre-registration opens December 8, 2014.

Call for Papers:

For this conference, submissions that help expand our understanding of the integration of theory and practice will be given preference. Excellent proposals on other themes in the area of language teaching and learning including, but not limited to, curricula, theory, research, technology, assessment, and best practices will also be considered.  

Presentation Formats:

- 70-minute workshop/demonstrations:  Provide participants with “hands-on” experience in developing methods and materials, analyzing research data, or solving a specific research/teaching problem.  
- 35-minute paper presentations:  Present original research or pedagogical practices related to applied linguistics (25-minute talk and 10-minute Q&A/discussion).
- Poster presentations:  Present a work-in progress. Posters are displayed during a designated one-hour poster session.
