Description:

The Education Division in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Lesley
University is seeking a full-time, 9-month faculty member in TESOL and
Bilingual Education. Responsibilities of the position include: (1) teaching
courses for undergraduate students in Education; (2) teaching required TESOL
courses across the majors in the undergraduate college: Early Childhood
Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, Middle School Education
and Secondary Education; 2) Advising undergraduate students; 3) Mentoring
faculty-student research with English language learners in urban schools; 4)
participating in program development, assessment and review in the Division;
and 5) participating in service to the Division, College and University.

Requirements

- A doctoral degree (in-hand or degree requirements completed by June 15,
2015) with concentration in TESOL, Applied Linguistics or Curriculum and
Instruction with a strong TESOL background and specialization in one or more
of the following areas: oral language learning theory and practice,
bi-literacy/bilingualism, language assessment, or other in-depth content area.
- Three years of K-12 public school teaching experience with language learners
in the United States.
- College teaching experience and solid preparation in teaching TESOL courses,
preferably at the undergraduate level.
- A demonstrated commitment to urban education and social justice.
- Candidates must be bilingual and biliterate.
- A record of scholarship or potential scholarship.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis and an understanding
of program evaluation.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; if you hold a visa, your
visa status must allow you to work at Lesley University.
