Dear colleagues and former participants to the Making of the Humanities
conference,
This is an important moment in the history of the humanities: the first
general journal on the history of the humanities has just been launched by the
University of Chicago Press!
http://press.uchicago.edu/pressReleases/2014/October/1410HOH.html
Each issue of the journal will contain around 150 pages, consisting of both
full research papers and a ''Forum Section'', as well as book reviews. Full
research papers can contain up to 10.000 words (including notes and
references); the ''Forum Section'' consists of 4-5 papers of a total of
maximally 25.000 words. A Forum section can comprise, for instance, 4 papers
by different authors on a coherent theme of current interest in the history of
the humanities, or one opinion paper followed by 4 short commentaries.
Proposals for Focus sections should equally be sent to
historyofhumanities at uva.nl.
Best wishes from the HoH editorial team,
Rens Bod, Julia Kursell, Jaap Maat and Thijs Weststeijn
