The Nature of Passives
Workshop for the 48th Annual Meeting of the Societas Linguistica Europaea (SLE
2015)

This workshop aims at presenting up-to-date theoretical, experimental,
typological, and psycholinguistic approaches to functions of passives.
Important Dates:
Submission deadline for an outline of a 20-minute talk (up to 300 words):
09-Nov-2014
Abstract submission deadline for the final talk (up to 500 words): t.b.a.
Topics and Format:
Proposals for a 20-minute talk in English (plus 10 minutes for discussion) may
include, but are not limited to the following themes:
- Form and function of passive
- Theoretical survey of passive
- Experimental research on passive
- Diachronic perspectives on passive
- Passive and typology
- Passive in language acquisition
Submissions must include the following information:
- Name, affiliation, and email address of each speaker
- Title of the talk
- Talk outline of up to 300 words
- Appropriate references
The proposals are to be submitted in DOC and PDF format by email to
