Meeting Description:

The V CIMLP is regarded as an important event for the community of researchers interested in metaphor and its role in language and thought. It is also important for the international community of Cognitive Linguistics in general.

The event will cover several relevant aspects to Cognitive Linguistics, especially the theme “Metaphor and Language Teaching”.

Call for Papers:

Abstracts of 20-minute papers (no more than 300 words, excluding references) and poster presentations are invited on any topic in the following areas:

- Metaphor / metonymy and teaching
- Metaphor / metonymy and discourse
- Metaphor / metonymy and multimodality
- Metaphor / metonymy and culture
- Theoretical and methodological perspectives on metaphor / metonymy research

The languages of the conference will be English and Portuguese, so the abstracts must be in either one of these languages. Only three authors per paper will be accepted. Abstracts should be prepared and submitted electronically via the online submission plattform, EasyAbs, which can be accessed at the following address:
