The new solicitation for the Information and Intelligent Systems (IIS) Core
Programs, including Robust Intelligence, which supports research projects in
computational linguistics, appeared late last month. The link is
http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2014/nsf14596/nsf14596.pdf.

There are only a few changes from last year's announcement, the most important
of which is the deadline date for Medium projects (total budgets of $500K to
$1.2M), which is Monday, November 10, 2014. The deadline for Large projects
(total budgets of $1.2M to $3M) is Thursday, November 20, and for Small
projects (total budgets up to $500K) is Wednesday, January 14, 2015. 

In addition, this year's deadline for the CISE Research Infrastructure (CRI)
Program (http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2014/nsf14593/nsf14593.pdf) is Thursday,
November 6. CRI provides support for planning grants and projects to develop
annotated language corpora, among other things.
