Meeting Description:
This symposium will focus on the linguistic dimensions of surprise and relate
them both to emotions at large and to underlying cognitive processing. It will
bring together emotion experts from different theoretical areas: Phonetics,
cognitive linguistics, formal linguistics, textual linguistics, Natural
Semantic Metalanguage, affective computing, and psychiatry.
