As English as a means of global communication continues to grow and spread,
the teaching and learning of ELF (English as a Lingua Franca) is quickly
gaining notoriety, not least in Japan where MEXT (the Ministry of Education,
Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) is shifting its focus from
traditional EFL goals to those of ELF.

Submissions are invited from interested researchers currently teaching ELF in
Japan, whether that be in universities, senmon gakko, eikawa schools,
primary/secondary schools & colleges or business.

Before submitting a proposal, it should be noted that the publisher has not
yet been finalized. The authors of accepted chapters will be notified as soon
as this information becomes available.

In the first instance, only an abstract/outline (one side of A4,
double-spaced) of the chapter is required. This should be accompanied with
author biodata including research interests, teaching background and
affiliation.

The deadline for initial proposal is 20th December 2014.

Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by 20th January 2015, and then
invited to submit the complete chapter by 28th February 2015. The complete
chapter should be between 20-25 pages in length including references and
appendices and must also conform to APA style.

The target publication date is Autumn 2015 or Spring 2016.
