Focus: The International Summer School of Croatian Language, Literature and Culture “Zoranic’s Arcady” will develop your speaking, reading, and writing skills in Croatian language and will offer you an excellent insight into aspects of Croatian cultural identity. Its courses in language and culture will guide you through a little arcadia of knowledge in one of most beautiful and culturally invaluable towns on the Adriatic. The Summer School is going to be held at the University of Zadar, situated at the seashore, with a wonderful view on the nearby islands. The University building is located in the proximity of all town sights, museums, churches, and the unique Zadar sea organ.

Minimum Education Level: Undergraduate

Description:
This year language lessons, tailored to meet the needs of participants and according to the level of their previous knowledge of Croatian language, will be accompanied by lectures of world famous experts in Croatian and Slavic
studies and by lectures of respected scientists from Department of Croatian and Slavic Studies at University of Zadar. Language lessons and lectures are going to be accompanied by afternoon workshops through which participants will
get to know more on Croatian culture. One excursion is planned during which participants will have opportunity to familiarize themselves with ethnological heritage and gastronomic offerings of Zadar region. 

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of attendance, a diploma according to their level of competence, and 3 European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) points.

- Tuition Fee: 400 EUR
- Tuition Fee and Two Meals (Breakfast and Lunch): 610 EUR
- Accommodation in Youth Hostel (Optional): 247 EUR

In addition, the price of The International Summer School of Croatian Language and Culture “Zoranic’s Arcady” includes one excursion into surrounding area and visits to galleries and museums. Accommodation is provided in Youth Hostel of University of Zadar. Arrival is on 19th July 2015 (during the afternoon and evening) and departure is on 2nd August 2015 (during the morning). 

Breakfast and lunch will be served in student’s restaurant of University of Zadar.

Financial Aid: Applications accepted until 01-Jun-2014

One scholarship is granted for participants of the Summer School. The scholarship covers tuition fee and accommodation fee with three meals. Students of Slavic studies from universities outside Croatia and children of Croatian emigrants are eligible to apply for scholarship. 

Criteria are excellence in studies (and/or active participation in work of cultural associations for children of Croatian emigrants). 

Applications for scholarship are to be submitted until 1st June 2015, and the organizing committee of the Summer School will notify the selected candidate until 15th June 2015.
