Meeting Description:
The 46th annual meeting of the North East Linguistic Society (NELS 46) will be held at Concordia University on October 16-18, 2015. In addition to the general session, there will be two special sessions: one focusing on the syntax and semantics of number, case and agreement; the other on issues at the interfaces.
Invited Speakers:
David Barner (UCSD)
Rajesh Bhatt (UMass)
Valentine Hacquard (UMD)
Sharon Inkelas (UCBerkeley)
Omer Preminger (UMD)
Call for Papers:
We invite abstracts from all fields of theoretical linguistics as part of the general session. Talks will be 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes for discussion. Submissions are limited to two per author, with at most one paper being single-authored. As part of the general session, there also will be one poster session.
In addition to the general session, submissions are also invited for two special sessions:
(1) syntax and semantics of number, case and agreement
(2) issues at the interfaces (e.g., the interactions and influences among syntax, semantics, pragmatics and phonology, including topics such as prosody, phonological and semantic phases, grammatical competition, etc.).
Traditional theoretical work as well as theoretically oriented experimental research are both encouraged.
Abstracts, including references and data, should be limited to two single spaced pages (US Letter) with one inch margins, minimum font size 11pt (Times New Roman). Examples should be interspersed throughout the text. When submitting your abstract, please indicate which session(s) you wish to be considered for as well as whether poster presentation is acceptable. Please do not include any personal information in the abstract file you are uploading.
Abstract must be submitted in PDF format through EasyAbs (http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/nels46) and must be received by July 2, 2015, 23:59 EDT.
