Dear Friends of LINGUIST List,
As of 5:30 pm (EST) on Tuesday, Fund Drive 2015 has raised $32,582.50. Unfortunately, we are no where near our goal.
http://funddrive.linguistlist.org/donate/
Here is a bit of an update on how our challenges are going! Don’t like these results? Donate and help your subfield, university, business, region, and country rise to the top of our leader boards!
In our Subfield Challenge, the top five rank as follows:
1. Computational Linguistics ($6,870)
2. Syntax ($4,181)
3. Sociolinguistics ($3,303)
4. Phonology ($2,569)
5. Semantics ($2,040)
We now have FIVE subfields that have donated over $2,000 each! Historical Linguists, you’re next! Who is willing to help their subfield knock computational linguistics out of the top spot? That spot once belonged to phonology and syntax. Are will willing to fight for it back?
Please visit http://funddrive.linguistlist.org/subfield/ for a full list!
In our University Challenge, the top five rank as follows:
1. Indiana University Bloomington ($2,150 – 19 donors)
2. University of Washington ($1,920 – 31 donors)
3. Stanford University ($1,365 – 10 donors)
4. North-West University, Potchefstroom and Vaal Triangle Campuses, South Africa ($820 – 2 donors)
5. University of South Carolina ($740 – 9 donors)
Indiana University Bloomington has ranked first throughout the entire Fund Drive, but University of Washington continues to dominate in number of individual donors! We are ready for more universities to show this level of
support! We’ve also seen great support from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the past two weeks, and we are so grateful!
Today we received donations from University of Colorado at Boulder, Illinois State University, Ochanomizu University, University of Cologne, Universität Konstanz, CLS, Radboud University, Aida Talic, UiL OTS / Utrecht University,
The University of Alabama, The Ohio State University, UiL OTS / Utrecht University, MSU, and the University of Washington!
Please visit http://funddrive.linguistlist.org/university/ for a full list!
In our Business Challenge we have:

2. Microsoft Natural Language Group ($200)

in second place with 36 donors and the United Kingdom in third place with 27! We know we have subscribers from all over the world! Please step up and help and you could see your country and region top our lists!
