Description:

Description of Duties

Assist with tasks required to complete test development in support of transitioning from paper-based to computer-based test.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Assist with test development quality control.
2. Complete storyboards and detailed specification sheets using layout guide and existing paper-based test.
3. Review and check drafts of storyboards and specification sheets.
4. Review and check drafts of items for adherence to specification sheets and to identify errors.
5. Prepare written protocols and checklists.
6. Proof and copyedit materials according to style guide
7. Research and fact check test item content.
8. Assist in item writing workshops/courses/activities, field testing, CAL tryouts and field tryouts, cognitive labs, external reviews, e.g., bias and content, and key checks.
9. Other responsibilities/duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field and five years of related experience or Master’s degree with two years of related experience are required.
 
Desired Qualifications

1. Experience developing tests (especially computer-based or language tests).
2. Familiarity with ACCESS for ELLs® or other WIDA Consortium assessments.
3. Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a fast-paced team environment.
4. Excellent attention to detail.
5. Excellent organization and time management. 
6. Excellent oral and interpersonal communication. 
7. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
8. Knowledge of Adobe CS6 InDesign and Microsoft Office software.
