Meeting Description:
The annual CAMWS conference will be held in Williamsburg, VA, March 16-19 2016. The panel aims to explore both innovative developments in the field of lexicography and the history of lexicography within the larger field of Classics.
Call for Papers:
Papers on the following topics are particularly welcome:
- Innovation in electronic lexica
- Lexica and word lists of languages and dialects of the Classical period beyond Latin and Greek (e.g., Oscan, Etruscan, etc.)
- Ancient lexicography and lexicographical notes in scholia
- Medieval lexica and their reception
- Lexica of the early modern period
- Cataloging semantics and register within lexicographical tools
- New reference tools with a dictionary element
- Dictionary content in new media (tablets, mobile devices, etc.)
- Interconnections between pedagogy and lexica
Abstracts:
The abstracts, to be submitted by 17 August 2015, should be between 300-500 words in length (excluding references), and should describe the contents of the proposed presentation and/or paper. The abstract should meet CAMWS’s formatting guidelines for submissions. However, a brief C.V. is appreciated. All abstracts should be submitted electronically in MSWord or .pdf format to LexicographyCAMWS at gmail.com.
