Meeting Description:
The 26th Annual Meeting of the Southeast Asian Linguistics Society (SEALS26) is happening on May 26-28, 2016, at the Century Park Hotel, Manila, the Philippines.
SEALS26 is organised by the Department of Linguistics, University of the Philippines, Diliman (UP-Lingg), and the Summer Institute of Linguistics, Philippines (SIL-P).
As a primary venue for exchange of linguistic ideas, the SEALS conferences focus on the languages and linguistics of Southeast Asia, including the Austroasiatic, Austronesian, Hmong-Mien, Tibeto-Burman, and Tai-Kadai families, and provides an occasion for scholars to share their research.
Call for Papers:
We invite scholars working on Southeast Asian linguistics for this year's meeting in Manila. Below are the important dates regarding submission of papers.
Deadline of abstracts: 5 January 2016
Notification of review: 1 February 2016
Deadline of full-length papers: 15 April 2016
Important Notes:
In order to submit an abstract, please do take note of the following important details.
Proponents may only submit a maximum of two (2) abstracts: one as primary author and another as a secondary.
Maintain a maximum of 12 words for the paper title.
Maintain between 200 to 300 words for the abstract.
Maintain a maximum of 50 words for the bionote.
Conference Scope:
Everyone is invited to submit an abstract on any branch of linguistics in a Southeast Asian context, including but not limited to the scopes below.
Phonetics and phonology
Grammatical system
Genetic and areal relationships
Historical and comparative studies
Semantics, pragmatics and discourse analysis
Sociolinguistics
Language documentation, endangered languages and linguistic diversity
