Call Deadline: 01-Apr-2016

Bulletin of Scientific Terminology and Neologisms, special issue on MWEs in Greek and other languages: from theory to implementation

The term Multi Word Expression (MWE) covers a large set of constructions. MWEs are a challenge for the sciences of language: there is important ongoing work on the theoretical study of MWEs, the development of resources and, of course, processing issues.

Research on Greek MWEs covers a wide range of topics. The time is ripe for a concise reference publication that offers an overview of research on MWEs and provides a forum to high quality ongoing work. The Workshop Modern Greek MWEs 2015 that was held in conjunction with the ICGL12, Sept 23-24, 2015 Berlin served this aim successfully. Kindly supported by the Academy of Athens, the volume advertised here is the second step to this direction.

We invite submissions that

- Offer an overview of work on MWEs in general and Modern Greek MWEs in particular
- Present ongoing work on Modern Greek MWEs in all possible areas including, but not limited to, the topics below:

- Cross-linguistic study of MWEs
- Lexical, syntactic or semantic aspects of MWEs
- MWE resource development, standardization and availability
- Representation of MWEs in resources addressed to humans and to machines
- Integration of MWEs into NLP applications
- Models of first/second language acquisition of MWEs

We invite interested authors to submit an extended abstract by 1 April 2016, in English, in PDF format, 5 pages long at maximum including the title, bibliography, any pictures/tables. Font size should be 11pt. Papers should be anonymous. The authors' names, affiliations, email addresses should be sent separately on the body of the submission email. Authors will be notified about acceptance of the short version by 15 June 2016.

Other important dates:

Long version of accepted abstracts: 30 September 2016
Final decisions on papers: 30 November 2016
Submission of final versions: 28 February 2017

Please make sure that examples are fully glossed (please adhere to The Leipzig Glossing Rules https://www.eva.mpg.de/lingua/pdf/Glossing-Rules.pdf).

Reviewing will be double-blind. No author information should be included in the papers; self-reference should also be avoided. Resources submitted with the papers should be anonymous.

Please send your emails and submissions to the following address: mwebook at gmail.com
