Title of the thematic workshop: Modern Greek MWE 2015

Modern Greek MWE 2015 aims to offer a concise reference framework that covers as adequately as possible past and ongoing research in the field. Thus, the workshop will consist of three parts:

1. Invited talks and papers that offer an overview of existing work on Modern Greek MWEs
2. Invited talks and papers that present ongoing work on Modern Greek MWEs in relation to the international research trends
3. Round table discussion where issues concerning future work will be addressed

Call for Papers:

As regards past work, we will be interested in established research related to resource development and availability as well as the theoretical study of MWEs.

As regards ongoing work, we will be interested in major challenges in the overall process of MWE treatment, both from the theoretical and the computational viewpoint, focusing on original research related (but not limited) to the following topics:

-Lexical, syntactic or semantic aspects of MWEs
-Manually and automatically constructed resources and the relevant technology
-Representation of MWEs in resources addressed to humans and to machines
-Models of first and second language acquisition of MWEs
-Integration of MWEs into NLP applications

Abstract Submission for Oral or Written Presentations:

Abstracts for oral presentations (20’ for the paper and 10’ for discussion) or posters are invited. Abstracts should be 300-400 words long (exclusive of references) and should be submitted per email (polilektika2015 at gmail.com ) by March 20, 2015. 

The languages of the workshop are English, German and Greek. All the proposals will be reviewed by the members of the workshop's scientific committee. The decision as to which papers will be presented orally and which as posters will be made by the program committee based on the nature rather than on the quality of the work. Notifications of acceptance/rejection will be communicated by March 31, 2015.

Each author may maximally submit two abstracts: Either one single-authored and one co-authored or two co-authored abstracts. Reviewing will be double-blind, and thus no author information should be included in the abstracts; self-reference should be avoided as well. Author information should be included in the email comprising full name(s) of the author(s), affiliation and email. 

Accepted papers will appear in the workshop proceedings, where no distinction will be made between papers presented orally or as posters. The publication of an edited volume containing selected contributions is considered.
