Abstract:

It has been known for a long time, that one is able arrange the German
sentence in segments or "fields." These fields come into being through the
verbal brackets, which divide the sentence into a fore, middle, and aft
sections. The field-analysis opens up an elementary approach to German syntax
and is, for that reason, suitable as a subject in primary education but
field-analysis is also indispensable in regard to linguistic theory. This book
offers an introduction to field-analysis and presents it in various models of
topological, which are also compared to each other. Therefore, broader aspects
of German grammar are included and so this work serves as a bridge to didactic
adaptation. This introduction is suitable in same measure for beginning
students, advanced students and German teachers. (Universitätsverlag Winter
